A year has passed since “dvuhsimochniki” appeared on the Android platform in Russia. The pioneers in this area were two brands - Gigabyte and Highscreen. Just about the latest brand, but rather about its two new models, today we will talk. Models are called Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR. The first device is a middle-class smartphone, and the second - the flagship. Naturally, its characteristics are much more interesting.
Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR are carefully assembled, and in this respect they are almost as good as gadgets from world-famous companies. Metal inserts are located on the rear panels of the devices; it looks quite attractive. Most of the parts are plastic. Here we mention the presence of four touch-sensitive control keys, which, by the way, are not mandatory for smartphones on Android 4.0, although this version is used in new products. Also in the models there is a proprietary interface for the OS with a lot of widgets and nice graphical effects, which is easy to customize as you like.
One of the main features of Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR are the screens. Smartphones use IPS-matrix of the Japanese company Sharp, so the image quality is very good, the color reproduction is as natural as possible, and the viewing angles are wide - up to 178 degrees. By the way, these are the first Android-backgrounds with support for two SIM-cards that use IPS-displays. The first model is equipped with a 4-inch screen with quite an ordinary resolution - 800 by 480 pixels. Meanwhile, the Highscreen Alpha GTR boasts a 4.5-inch display with a much higher resolution - HD720p, that is 1280 by 720 pixels. Highscreen Alpha GTR has become the first "dvuhsimochnik" on Android with HD-screen. Also an interesting point is that this device is the most inexpensive Android background with HD display (quite a few of these gadgets: Samsung Galaxy S III, LG Optimus 4X HD, Sony Xperia S and HTC One X), and the difference in price is significant, at least double.
High-speed operation of Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR is ensured through the use of gigahertz processors from MediaTek. But the "iron" in the apparatus is slightly different. The basis of the younger model is the MediaTek MTK6575 single-core processor with the PowerVR SXG531 graphic core. The flagship is based on the MediaTek MTK6577 dual-core processor, although the graphics accelerator is exactly the same - the PowerVR SXG531. Highscreen Alpha GTR distinguished itself again: it became the first dual-purpose on Android with a dual-core processor. Both models have 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Included with the Highscreen Alpha GT comes a microSD card for 8 GB, and with a Highscreen Alpha GTR - for 16 GB.
Like any modern Android-smartphones, Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR have a certain basic set of functions - this is a receiver of satellite GPS navigation, FM tuner, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b / g / n), audio player (included high-quality headphones with a laps-shaped cable that does not get tangled when worn in a pocket), a video player, and so on. You can not ignore the camera smartphones, they are 8-megapixel and are made on the basis of matrices with "reverse flare" - BSI. Such cameras used to be used only in expensive models of world leaders - the same HTC. The quality of photos and videos is quite decent. Highscreen Alpha GT writes video in HD720p format, and Highscreen Alpha GTR in Full HD 1080p format. Also provided and front camera 2 megapixel, with which you can use video telephony.
The work of two SIM-cards in Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR is implemented in the same way as in the majority of “dual-purpose” devices on the Android operating system. Smartphones have one radio module, which makes both cards active in standby mode. In the talk mode or work on the Internet only one SIM card is active. The first SIM card provides work in 2G (GSM / GPRS / EDGE) and 3G (UMTS / HSDPA) cellular networks, the second - only in 2G.

Highscreen Alpha GT and GTR are high-quality and productive “dual-purpose” smartphones on the Android platform. These devices have become the first in the world and Russia on many points and so far have no competitors in their class.
