Gartner: Lenovo now rules the ball

For the past several years, HP has been considered the largest manufacturer of desktops and laptops. Today, HP ceded the title to its rival. According to a quarterly report from the analyst firm Gartner, for the period from July to September 2012, Lenovo delivered 13,767,976 personal computers to the world market. None of the companies showed such high results.

For comparison, HP sold 13,550,761 units of equipment. In general, for the third quarter PC deliveries amounted to 87.5 million, which is 8% lower than the corresponding figure for the same period last year. However, the numbers show that HP is still the leader in the United States. It is followed by Dell and Apple. But Lenovo managed to win only fourth place.

The fall in global sales of personal computers will continue. One of the reasons for this is the output of the Windows 8 operating system.
