First impressions of users from the Steam Machine

Not so long ago, we wrote that the first 300 lucky ones chosen by Valve had already sent the sets of the Steam Machine gaming computer, which one would like to call the game console. The network has a lot of new information from the owners of this rare device, which we hasten to share with you.

To begin with, we should note the ingenuity of people from Valve, who were not too lazy and created for each set of the Steam Machine a very impressive wooden package, on which, using stencils, the images from the game Portal were applied to the gamer's heart

Inside we are waiting for the computer case itself, tightly seated in a rigid foam layer, which eliminates its damage during transportation. Not every day you will meet such care of the users.

Under the console we are waiting for the gamepad and stylish black and white instructions.

Valve has not yet announced the final price for the first configuration of its computer, but considering that inside this black box a quad-core Intel processor with a clock frequency of 3.2 GHz, 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 780 video card with 3 GB of video memory lurked whether there will be 300-400 dollars.

So far, only the strange game controller of the Steam Machine, in which, instead of analog sticks, two sensory surfaces with reverse feedback are used, is causing doubt in this whole venture. Many users complain that playing with this controller is very inconvenient, tactile sensations during the game appear very strange, and their hands are drawn to the usual mouse and keyboard.

Well, time will tell whether the new control method will take root among computer gamers, or will Valve change the functional design of its gamepad. In the meantime, we can only envy the lucky ones who are already testing so curious gaming device, which does not even have an exact date of entry into the market. It is only known that Steam Machines should go on sale during 2014, and will release them not only Valve, but other companies involved in computer hardware.
