Как выглядят на карте мира все устройства, подключенные к интернету

Have you ever wondered how many devices are connected to the Internet in the world? And where is their greatest concentration? One person conducted an interesting experiment and arranged a global PING of all computers connected to the Internet, smart things and devices.

This person turned out to be John Matterly, the founder of the search engine Shodan , which is the world's first search engine on the Internet of things. Its search system allows manufacturers of equipment for "smart homes" to determine which of their devices are currently connected to the Internet, and where they are located territorially.

John pinged all devices that have access to the Internet and based on the received data created a map of the world, where clusters of detected devices are marked.

No one will be surprised to see that the largest concentration of Internet connections falls on the US, the east coast of South America, the countries of Europe, India, China and Japan. The least number of Internet users in Africa, Australia, Greenland, Canada, Alaska and northern Russia.

As for Russia, of course, the maximum number of connections to the Internet is registered in the European part of the country, especially around Moscow and St. Petersburg. The farther to the east, the lower the concentration of Internet connections.

You can not be sure that John Matterley's experiment reflects 100% of all devices connected to the Internet, but in any case the result of this research looks rather curious, and the received "Internet Map" looks very nice.
