After the next update of the official Microsoft Store, it became known that the Kinect 2.0 sensor will be available for purchase by users of personal computers as early as July 15.
What is a little surprising is the price of the device. We know perfectly well that the bundle of the Xbox One game console, which includes the updated Kinect, costs $ 499. And if you choose an alternative kit without a sensor - its price is $ 399. It turns out that Kinect owners of the console costs $ 100. But with PC users, the story is completely different.
Microsoft will include Kinect 2.0 with a special adapter for connecting the device to a personal computer. Apparently, it is because of this that the price of the sensor for PC users has grown to 199 dollars.
At the moment, Kinect 2.0 is already possible
It should be borne in mind that Kinect for PCs is sold exclusively so that enthusiastic programmers can write a new software for it. That is, the first buyers will face a complete lack of any applications or games for this sensor. Microsoft claims that it will provide Kinect 2.0 owners with a special SDK, through which they can sharpen the work of their applications and games under control with the help of movements. This SDK supports the most popular languages and programming environments, such as C ++, C #, VB.Net, Cx and JavaScript.
Let us remind you that earlier this year Microsoft Company met those users who were dissatisfied with the lack of a cheaper Xbox One bundle and released a bundle from which Kinect 2.0 was removed. Thus, Microsoft managed to equalize the price tag on its console with the price of the Sony PlayStation 4 console, which so far ahead of Xbox One in sales.
