During the CES 2015 exhibition, Intel Corporation
Curie runs on a 32-bit Intel Quark SE SoC processor, which includes 384 KB of flash memory and 80 KB of ultra-fast SRAM. Also on the tiny integral board are various sensors, a module combining the gyro and accelerometer functions, a Bluetooth module with reduced power consumption and a power controller.
Intel Curie operates under the operating system RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) with open source. Also, along with the operating system, it is planned to use numerous applications developed by Intel specialists, which will be called IQ Software Kits. According to the representatives of the company, this module is primarily intended for use in various portable electronics.
"The Intel Curie module can be an ideal solution for integrating additional functions into a wide range of products and things. It can be placed in rings, bracelets, pendants, bags, fitness trackers and even in ordinary buttons. "
Mass production of the module is planned for the second half of 2015.
