June 2012 was not marked by the appearance of truly revolutionary devices, but there is nothing surprising about it - summer is in the yard, life stands still and becomes more like a circuit of holidays. Nevertheless, the past month gave us some quite worthy new products, to which I would like to draw your attention. In this review, I collected ten of the most diverse devices - from a game monitor to an iPhone case - which seemed to us the most interesting devices of June 2012.
1. Portable WD My Passport storage capacity of 2 TB
WD has released the largest external portable drive, the two-byte My Passport. The adherents of the motto “all your burden with you” can no longer worry about the fact that the disk space will ever end (most likely, WD will release an even more capacious external drive before). Of the useful qualities of the new product, in addition to the volume and compact case, it is worth noting that the WD Smartware automatic backup program is included. Those who are still not familiar with it, I can assure you that the software is convenient and easy to use: backup is performed without user intervention, that is, regularly. Lazy and forgetful, he will definitely like it.

2. Professional gaming mouse Genius DeathTaker
How many gaming mice were released into the world, but manufacturers continue to announce and launch new, increasingly sophisticated models on the market. Finally, Genius entered this niche. Her first Genius DeathTaker gaming mouse in several years is made in the best traditions of gaming devices - it is brutal, asymmetric, has many backlight options and several programmable buttons. The mouse sensor supports resolution up to 5700 dpi (although it’s almost impossible to play with minimum and maximum resolution settings, but on the middle ranges the device showed itself from the best side). Not without a user interface with a loud and atmospheric name Scorpion, through which you can control mouse settings, program buttons and write your own macros. The important point is the possibility of individual adjustment of the weight of the manipulator with the help of six weights: let this decision not be new, but, nevertheless, for some reason it is not implemented in all gaming mice.

3. Starway Andromeda S900 Tablet
Over the past six months, there has been a clear trend towards expanding the range of low-cost tablet PCs. Many manufacturers - known and not so much - began to replenish their product line with devices for 200-250 dollars, which are not too inferior in performance to more expensive popular models. Starway recently entered the Russian market and immediately introduced several of its budget tablets, including the 9.7-inch Andromeda S900. The characteristics of the novelty are very attractive - a capacitive multi-touch display, a fairly powerful A10 processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, two built-in cameras and a 8000 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, can withstand up to 9 hours of continuous operation. In this case, the tablet has a modest thickness, by general standards, barely reaching 10 mm. In a word, “on paper” the novelty looks quite attractive, and we will soon find out what will actually be there.

4. iiyama ProLite G2773HS Game Monitor
In June, the Japanese corporation iiyama announced its new gaming 27-inch monitor based on a modern TN-panel. The pleasure, of course, is not cheap, but the characteristics of the device are really impressive. To begin with, the stated refresh rate of the panel reaches 120 Hz - for true fans of dynamic games, this indicator has a very considerable value. Of course, you will need a graphics adapter equipped with a 120 Hz DVI interface, but in the pursuit of realism of immersion in the gaming world, true gamers do not spare any money. In addition, the novelty is characterized by ultra-low response time, constituting only 1 ms, - as a result, a truly smooth frame change and an incredibly clear picture are provided. The monitor is equipped with LED-backlit and supports automatic adjustment of the contrast of the screen, based on the performance of the displayed image, and he knows how to automatically remove the blur in the dynamic scenes of games and movies.

5. iriver B100 player
Very good-quality players have always been released under the iriver brand (as for me, much more user friendly than the iPods), but, unfortunately, this manufacturer makes us very rarely happy. Therefore, I could not but include in the review a new player iriver B100 - simple, elegant, but functional. The device withstands the declared 40 hours of music playback without recharging and about 8-9 hours in the video viewing mode, and also plays very many popular audio, video, text and image formats. The player has a 3.1-inch touch screen: it is not too convenient to read or watch video with it, but if you do not have other specialized devices at hand, you can do with the player. But the presence of a built-in voice recorder is a very significant and pleasant addition. The novelty has two versions with 4 and 8 GB of internal memory (which, however, can be expanded with micro SD / SDHC cards).
Price issue: 5000 for 8 GB.
6. Road Wi-Fi TP-LINK TL-WR702N router
This device was announced in the spring, it even appeared a few reviews. But since it only entered retail sales in June, I decided to include it in this review. This miniature sky blue router is the smallest in the world and is designed for use with tablets, smartphones, game consoles and other portable wireless devices, as well as for organizing access points in hotels or rented apartments when traveling and traveling. A small box provides wireless connection speeds of up to 150 Mbps in the coverage area of the size of an average 15-20 meter room. In order to create an access point, simply connect the router to the WAN cable (they are often in the room in hotels). The TL-WR702N is equipped with a Micro USB port and can be powered from an external adapter or via a USB connection to the computer. And finally, the device supports several operating modes: an access point (by default), a client, a router, a repeater and a bridge.
Price issue: 800 rubles.
7. Wireless Headset RAPOO H8020
The RAPOO periphery is notable for being produced simultaneously in several colors (black and white versions are always available). Fans of Mac-style, to whom I also attribute myself, this feature will appeal. The RAPOO H8020 wireless headset, which appeared in June this year in a white version of the case, perfectly combines with Apple devices, besides it is compatible not only with Windows, but also with Mac OS X. The main feature of the new product is a built-in microphone that automatically responds to user voice. The manufacturer claims that the quality of voice transmission will not be affected and there will be no extraneous noise. In any case, it is necessary to pay tribute to the compactness and lightness of the design, which is of great importance when the headset is forced for many hours. Touch buttons, responsible for managing tracks and volume, are located on one of the headphones. Signal device receives through a small USB-receiver. The headset will have to be charged for about two hours, which will subsequently provide 8 hours of continuous use.

8. Wireless webcam Defender GLory 340 Wireless
In June, the Defender brand introduced its first and so far the only wireless webcam. It is noteworthy that at the moment in this segment there is practically no offer, the same Yandex.Market gives out in addition to the new item only one device. Defender GLory 340 Wireless works up to 5 meters from the receiver. This, in general, is not small and not much, but it is quite enough to mix around the room with ease and demonstrate, for example, its interior during a Skype conversation. The webcam is equipped with a sensor with a resolution of 0.3 MP, automatic backlighting, and is also able to independently adjust the sensitivity to light changes. For those who like to take pictures, the manufacturer has equipped the device with a button for instant photography, there is also a built-in microphone and additional software for manually adjusting the image, overlaying frames, special effects and much more. In general, everything is like a good webcam, but without wires.

9. Case for iPhone Bone Phone Shimmer 4S
iPhone still remains one of the most popular smartphones despite the fact that the market has long been more accessible and not inferior in their technical parameters of mobile devices. Not surprisingly, the range of manufactured accessories for iPhones is very, very large. Last month, the Bone brand introduced a very original case for the iPhone 4 / 4S, adorned with the image of the cartoon penguin Maru. The case is made of aluminum, but its weight is no different from similar products made of fabric or silicone. But no smartphone bumps, scratches and falls from a height. The novelty has two variants of the body: the first is styled as a painting by Andy Warhol with the penguin mentioned instead of Marilyn Monroe, the second looks more like an abstraction. As a bonus, a funny silicone cap in the form of a penguin figure for a 3.5 mm plug is attached to the new product.

10. Mediarider Prestigio PER3274B
The line separating the e-book from the tablet is becoming more and more blurred. Modern “readers” with a TFT screen are no different from budget tablet PCs - neither the size of the screen, nor the performance, nor the versatility and functionality. And now the next borderline device, called a media reader, was born - Prestigio PER3274D with a convenient 7-inch touch screen and a nimble Rockchip 2738 processor. Of course, first of all, the novelty is designed for reading, this is indicated by the interface design and the presence of mechanical buttons for scrolling pages (by the way, a very convenient solution is to combine the touch screen and mechanical buttons, giving the user the opportunity to choose the most comfortable and familiar way of control). But the device also perfectly reproduces videos with a resolution of up to 720 p inclusive, and the battery provides up to 3 hours of battery life in the video viewing mode.
