Only a few months have passed since Toshiba introduced the new ultrabook U845. And now the company has shown two new models of 14-inch Toshiba Satellite U945 and P845t ultrabooks on IFA, their release is scheduled for October 26, the day Windows 8 starts sales.

Toshiba Satellite U945 offers almost the same thing as the previously released Satellite U845. You just need to install Windows 8 and replace the metal case with a cheaper plastic one. The good news for this new product is the lower cost - about $ 700, which is $ 50 less than what is asked for the Satellite U845.

The company offers an ultrabook based on Core i3 or Core i5 processors, with a 500 GB hard drive and a 32 GB solid state drive. The thickness of the Toshiba Satellite U945 is 1.98 cm. The novelty is equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, LAN and HDMI connectors.

If you want a tablet that you can transform into a laptop if you wish, then your choice of Satellite U920t. But if you need a standard laptop, but with a touch screen, then you have a direct route to the shelves with the Satellite P845t.

The novelty will be offered in versions with Core i3 or Core i5 processors, 6 GB of RAM, 3 USB ports, HDMI output and LAN, Harman Kardon speakers, a 750 hard disk and a solid-state drive for caching.

Unlike the cheaper fellow U945, the new Toshiba Satellite P845t is assembled in an aluminum case. The company does not yet indicate the cost of new items with a touch screen and a metal case, but it will be clearly much higher than the ultrabook in a plastic case and with a conventional LCD screen.
