IFA 2012: Asus is preparing to release a portable laptop X201

ASUS unveiled today at the IFA in Berlin a new low-cost laptop model. The novelty is called Asus X201 , which, despite its rather thin silhouette and light weight, does not belong to the line of ultrabooks.

The fact is that this model instead of a solid-state drive uses a conventional hard drive and a less efficient processor than most ultrabooks. But such laptops will cost considerably less than the Asus Zenbook line.

About the new laptop while a little information. It is known that it will take its place among such models as Asus X301, X401 and X501 with 13-, 14- and 15-inch displays. The novelty itself offers a 11.6-inch display, made in a plastic case, offers three USB ports, HDMI and VGA ports, as well as an SD slot.

ASUS will offer models based on dual-core Intel Celeron, Pentium and Core i3 processors. All of them will work under control of Windows 8.

The laptop will be available in black, blue, white and pink versions of the case and will offer a chiclet keyboard.
