IFA 2012: Asus introduced the 15-inch Zenbook U500 ultrabook

ASUS has expanded its ultrabook lineup and today introduced the 15-inch Asus Zenbook U500VZ model with a Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Asus Zenbook U500 thickness - 19.8 mm. This fits in with the Intel policy that it proposed for ultrabooks. The novelty itself turned out to be somewhat larger than most of the representatives of this family - all thanks to the 15-inch display. Thanks to the large size, ASUS even found a place for a numeric keypad.

The layout itself has a backlight, which is automatically adjusted depending on the lighting of the room. Zenbook U500 offers installation of processors up to the Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge. An option is a discrete graphics accelerator NVIDIA GT650M.

ASUS will offer two models. One will be equipped with solid-state (SSD) drives up to 512 GB, the second will offer a 128 GB SSD drive and a 500 GB hard drive.
