IDF 2012: Intel talked about the fourth generation Ultrabook

Intel's leading microprocessor maker during the Intel Developer Forum also spoke about the fourth-generation Ultrabook based on Haswell processors . The output of the latter is scheduled for April 2013.

According to internal documentation, Intel Haswell Ultrabook will be divided into two categories: the first will fall to entry-level models, and the second laptops in the higher price segment. The requirements for ultrabooks in basic configuration are as follows: plastic case, up to 9 hours of battery life, 13-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 2 x 2 GB of DDR3L memory operating at 1600 MHz, 320 GB hard disk, storage device SSD volume of 32 GB, as well as a webcam resolution of 720p. The cost of such an ultrabook will be about 700 dollars.


The recommended configuration includes a 13-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an aluminum case, 2 x 2 GB of RAM type LPDDR3, operating at 1600 MHz, and a 128 GB solid-state drive. The battery life in the video playback mode should not be less than 6 hours. The cost models of the higher price segment will be $ 1,000.

Windows 8 was chosen as the operating system. Fourth generation ultrabooks will be on sale in mid-2013.
