People may be surprised to learn that PC games have lost their influence on the sales of personal computers, which they had several years ago. Nevertheless, the new reports show that despite all the predictable sad fate of the end of the PC market, which, by the way, everything will not come, the market of games for personal computers shows steady growth.
PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) has published two reports, according to which the PC gaming market has grown, despite the powerful influence of the tablet, smart phone and gaming console markets.
PCGA conducted a study and made forecasts of the gaming market for the period 2012-2016, and concluded that this industry will be the most profitable for some countries.
Analyst David Cole, for example, pointed out that China’s gaming market showed a steady growth of 8 percent in 2012, compared with a year earlier. China alone brought in $ 6.8 billion from a total of $ 20 billion in global revenue from the industry.
Despite the fact that in recent years, tablet computers and smartphones have eaten a large part of the players, there are currently more than one billion PC gamers around the world. And not least, Cole believes that this figure will only continue to grow. That's because more people play on the PC online than on the same consoles, not to mention tablets and smartphones.
“We expect a shift in the gaming industry. The power of portable gaming equipment has become noticeably higher and now allows you to get the full gaming experience that was previously possible only at home. Traditional desktops have already ceased to be considered as a universal gaming platform. Their place is occupied by gaming laptops with powerful graphics cards and high-quality audio systems. The PC market is becoming mobile. ”
On online analyst clarified for a reason. The same Asian markets bring the main income from there. Therefore, such developments, like AMD Sky, have a meaning of their existence and will be useful in the future.
