Desktop boards of the Radeon HD 8000 series are already supplied to OEM manufacturers
Most of the secrets surrounding the latest series of mobile graphics chips from AMD have already been revealed, but this did not prevent the company from making an official announcement today. Designed for both traditional laptops and ultrabooks, the Radeon HD 8000M mobile series offers DirectX 11.1 support and is the first line of mobile GPUs built on AMD Graphics Core Next architecture.
The lineup is represented by the Radeon HD 8800M, HD 8700M, HD 8600M and HD 8500M models. AMD said that the new mobile chips of the Radeon HD 8000M series have already been adopted by companies such as Samsung and ASUS. It will not be a secret for anyone if Dell, Lenovo and other OEM manufacturers will soon express their desire to use these chips.
Taking this opportunity, AMD also spoke about the Radeon HD 8000 desktop graphics series, announcing that the boards are already being sent to OEM PC assemblers. And we can expect the first systems using these graphics cards this month.
