The Kano project, which was named after the Japanese judo instructor Kano Jigoro, was presented to the public through a Kickstarter crowdfunding portal on November 19, 2013. The essence of the project is to create a special set for all ages, which includes a modular computer, which the user must assemble and configure independently according to the instructions, as well as a package of programming applications with which you can get acquainted with the principle of algorithms, as well as learn the basics of developing your own software and even video games.

The Kano kit includes: a computer module based on the Raspberry Pi, two illustrated instructions describing the assembly and programming process on this device, a special computer case, an 8 GB SD card, a keyboard, a speaker, a power supply, as well as HDMI cables and mini-usb From all this going to a compact device that can be connected to a monitor or TV, after which the fun begins.

Each Kano computer is equipped with the Kano OS operating system developed on the basis of Debian Linux, as well as the Kano Blocks visual dynamic programming language. In fact, the beauty of this language is that even children will be able to understand it, for which, in fact, the whole calculation was made.

The creators of the project for the month planned to collect only $ 100,000 in order to start the production of Kano kits for mass sale.
