Free online education will now be in Moscow

Teachers of the best universities in the world are planning to open more than 30 educational hubs in more than 20 countries, including Russia, as part of the free online course project Coursera.


Coursera is an online education project founded by professors at Stanford University Andrew Ng and Daphne Keller. Coursera training hubs are specific places that provide Internet access where you can come to listen to the Coursera online course absolutely free.

Also, students of educational hubs will be given the opportunity to participate in addition to the courses listed in the Coursera catalog, in offline sessions on subjects chosen by the student along with fellow students and competent local coordinators.

The form of offline learning depends on the frequency of visits and technological accessibility and may take the form of tutoring, projects, discussions that the student attends in parallel with the interactive course.

Training hubs will be opened in Moscow, Kiev, Mountain View, Prague, Tbilisi, Baghdad, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Chennai, Hanoi, Helsinki, Juba, La Paz, Lima, Manila, Phnom Penh, Port-au-Prince, Port - Luis, Santiago, Seoul, Shanghai, Kakamega, Mumbai and the Port of Spain, reports korrespondent.net.

However, representatives of Coursera do not stop at what has been accomplished and are looking for partners to open new offline training hubs in other parts of the world.
