Supercomputer Watson tries himself as a cook

Суперкомпьютер Watson пробует себя в кулинарии

The supercomputer with IBM's artificial intelligence program Watson has already tried to act as a sales consultant, and also participated in a school quiz. And what about other professions? It turns out that a supercomputer can generate cooking recipes for cooks.

This project was developed jointly by IBM and the editor of the famous culinary magazine Bon Appetit. The publisher provided the computer with a database of a large number of magazines that contained 9,000 different recipes, which can be realized in a traditional kitchen.

From the data obtained, the supercomputer compiled its own cross-referenced database, noting which products are not combined in the culinary plan. It is worth noting that Watson does not just generate recipes based on its "fantasy", it can also take into account the taste preferences of a person to certain products or different kitchens.

The first tests of culinary skills of the supercomputer were carried out under the supervision of specialists Bon Appetit. Unfortunately, there were minor shortcomings, but the developers say that these are only Watson's first steps in this field, CNet writes.

At the moment, experts from IBM are making some refinements related directly to the area of cooking, into the supercomputer program. In the future, it is planned to release an application for home cooks who will be able to use the skills of the Watson supercomputer.

It should be noted that at the beginning of this year the supercomputer Watson had already made some attempts to create dishes, but an experiment conducted in conjunction with Bon Appetit showed that such supercomputer capabilities can be used by ordinary amateur cooks at home.
