Fundraising on a palm-sized gaming PC continues

Tango

The Californian startup Tango, wishing to be in the trend of miniature computers, launched a crowdsport campaign on the Indiegogo website in order to collect the missing money to create "the world's most portable computer". The manufacturer claims that it can accommodate a full 4-core Windows-PC in a device the size of a smartphone.

Just remember the single-board Raspberry Pi. However, Tango focuses attention of potential buyers on the 2-gigahertz 4-core AMD A6-5200 processor with built-in 3D graphics GCN GPU HD8400, which turns its eponymous computer into an ideal game machine. RAM varies from 2 to 8 gigabytes, and flash memory from 32 to 512 GB, depending on the options selected. Dimensions of the computer are 125 x 80 x 13.5 millimeters, docking stations - 135 x 135 x 27 millimeters.

Almost a month after the launch, the project managed to collect more than 230 thousand dollars, exceeding the target amount in more than two times. Until the end of the collection of donations, there remained 31 days.

The ad video of the Tango computer says:

Tango is a pocket, attachable, office, entertainment, gaming PC. It offers more access and mobility than any other proposed personal computer. We believe that Tango is the next step in the evolution of personal computers.

The Tango comes with a small docking station the size of an external DVD drive that connects to a display, keyboard, and other devices via USB or LAN connectors.

The computer is equipped with a small rechargeable battery. It is needed so that when the Tango is removed from the docking station, the user does not lose his data - the device simply goes into sleep mode. At repeated docking it is possible to continue work from the interrupted place. In addition, the docking station acts as a cooler - it removes heat from the computer.

The developers note that Tango is similar to the pocket version of the Xbox or PlayStation, because it allows you to play games on your TV using the optional controller. Tango supports any laptop-compatible operating system, in particular, Windows 7, 8 Pro, Linux, Chrome and others.
