Microsoft said that the new functionality of the Windows 10 platform can turn a mobile phone into a real desktop PC, which will always be at hand. A tool called Continuum adapts the interface to the desired display size. It is reported that Continuum allows you to connect the smartphone to the TV panel or external monitor, as well as to the mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth. As a result, the smartphone can be used as a full-fledged personal computer.

Joe Belfiore showed the branded universal applications for Windows 10, including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, designed to work with two screens.

The new interface is very similar to the Windows 10 interface, only here the smartphone's home screen is mirrored on the external display in the place of the standard Start menu. Since applications for smartphones and desktops have the same code base, they look and function like regular PC programs.

Continuum will only work with next-generation smartphones that will have enough power to work with two screens, which Windows Phone devices can not afford. Belfiore said that we will see them later. According to him, the new function has a huge potential.
