Game-designer Minecraft has become a phenomenon of the gaming industry. The amateur project, created by the Swedish programmer Marcus Persson, quickly gained millions of fans and turned into one of the most profitable games in the world. Four years later, Persson sold his offspring to Microsoft for $ 2.5 billion and left the Mojang studio he created. Now the Redmond giant is planning to expand the Minecraft universe in all sorts of ways, one of which was children's education.
The joint project of Microsoft and Code.org programmers portal will allow children of primary school age to learn the basics of constructing algorithms in programming with the help of the Minecraft game they understand. A special editor demonstrates a scene from the game, the elements of which children can control using special software commands that look like small blocks. Blocks are arranged in a certain sequence, and then the program translates them into the form of actions.
This training program is designed for children from 6 years and older. During the training, children will be offered to solve various problems by constructing certain algorithms.
