Military computer "Voskhod" will be able to work in the Arctic

The United Instrument-Making Corporation (OPK) developed the army computer "Voskhod", designed for operation in extreme conditions. Experts have designed it in such a way that it can function fully in motion, it is protected from dust, dirt, fire and water. He is not afraid of "Sunrise" and cold, and he is very unpretentious and consumes only about 35 W in the process of work.

"Sunrise" is a hardware and software platform that can become a reliable base element for special purpose computing systems compatible with army tablets, mobile and stationary automated stations designed for computation and other work with data representing state, commercial or military secrets.

The computer "Voskhod", according to the representatives of the OPK, is designed to support the work of command posts and is based on the Russian processor with COM-64 architecture, which allows to combine processors into clusters containing from several hundreds to thousands or more processors. Thus, combining these machines, in theory one can achieve the performance of supercomputers.

The computer runs on the domestic dual-core processor 1890VM8YA with a clock speed of 800 MHz, the amount of RAM DDR3 is from 4 to 8 GB, depending on the configuration. The developers report that the computer sunrise is designed not only for the military, there is also an industrial and civilian configuration. There is a PC running the Linux OSVSW OS.
