Apple plans to release a keyboard with dynamically changing keys

Apple планирует выпустить клавиатуру с динамически меняющимися клавишами

Apple does not always "invent the wheel" by itself. Sometimes it's much easier to buy a small company with innovative technology or simply buy out the right to use technology from them, develop an idea and roll out a brand-new product under the brand. It seems that this will happen with the invention of Sonder Design, the engineers who came up with the idea to create a keyboard with keys based on electronic ink. It may well be that in the future we will see in the official Apple stores keyboards for "Macs" or even laptops with dynamically changing images on the keys.

According to two sources at once, the reliability of information which can be trusted, Apple is negotiating with Sonder Design on the question of using their technology "dynamic keyboard" for their own purposes. Changing "on the fly" images on the keys can greatly change our perception of the keyboard. No, this idea is far from new. Remember at least the keyboard Optimus Maximus, created by our compatriot Artem Lebedev. However, in that case each key was a full-color display, because of what the keyboard cost a lot of money. And in the case of electronic ink, the price of the device can be very attractive for the end user.

A little later Sonder Design officially confirmed the fact of the negotiations, but refused to say what exactly these negotiations ended. We still do not know if there was a deal between the companies or the meeting ended in a draw. In any case, Sonder Design has already entered into contracts with three large keyboards manufacturers, so that very soon nonstandard devices should appear on the market. But even if Apple managed to conclude a deal, do not wait for the appearance of apple technology using this technology in less than 2-3 years. And even longer.
