The shoulder VR-computer is planned to be used for military training

We already somehow told you that several large manufacturers announced computers in the form of a shoulder bag with the support of popular virtual reality sets. In such an uncomplicated way, the problem of dangling wires connecting the VR helmet and the PC was solved. As it turned out recently, such computers will be used not only for video games, but also for education, training of personnel and even in the military sphere.

Computer backpack manufactured by HP was called Z VR Backpack (previously it was known as the Omen concept). The manufacturer created the computer in such a way that it was protected from dust and moisture and met all the requirements of the military to the training equipment. Inside the rugged backpack is a four-core Core i7 processor with vPro technology support and NVIDIA Quadro P5200 graphics accelerator with 16 gigabytes of video memory. The computer is perfectly compatible with the HTC Vive headset, but also supports the Oculus Rift helmet. The backpack is equipped with two batteries: main and backup. As soon as the main battery is discharged, it can be replaced with a fully charged one, while the backup battery will allow the system to remain active.

If you are interested in the cost of a backpack-PC, it is already known and is equal to 3295 dollars. The Z VR Backpack will go on sale in September. Manufacturers attribute such a high cost to the fact that such a PC can easily replace an entire design studio or military training ground. HP entered into contracts with Autodesk, Epic Games, Fusion, HTC, Launch Forth and Technicolor to develop a new software to popularize virtual reality in a variety of areas. One of the first projects will be Mars Home Planet, in which engineers and designers will try to present, design and depict the future colonization of Mars.
