Physicists from Russia and the United States jointly developed and tested the most powerful quantum computer in the world, based on a 51-kilobit chip. The group, led by one of the founders of the Russian Quantum Center, Mikhail Lukin, who works in Harvard, bypassed the team of Google, which is still working on the creation of a 49-chip chip.
During the testing of a new quantum computer, scientists were able to solve a number of tasks that required quite a large amount of resources, even from supercomputers. For example, Russian and American scientists were able to calculate the behavior of a large cloud of particles related to each other, and discovered previously unknown effects that arise within it.
RIA Novosti reports that now scientists intend to continue working with a quantum computer. So, Lukin plans to try to launch on it the quantum algorithm of Shore, with the help of which it is possible to crack most encryption systems based on the RSA algorithm.
